A Workshop with Judy Gardner

Judy’s work combines multiple printmaking techniques, including solar plate intaglio and relief, linocut, stencil monotype, stamping and chin colé. She often incorporates laser etching and cutting in the creation of her plates, stencils and stamps. She will be demonstrating techniques for building interesting textures in stencil monotypes and a method of dry chin colé which enables the use of unsized papers which don’t handle soaking well. She will also be discussing her thoughts on the incorporation of technology in the creation of printmaking plates and tools while still retaining the feel of the artist's hand.
